International Baptist Bible College

  • 1994 Doug and Lois Emr family arrived as full-time missionaries in Ukraine.
  • 1995 Evangelist Ivan Yakovlovich Sidorets and Doug Emr formed the Bila Tserkva Bible Institute. Classes were held on Tuesdays. Doug did most of the teaching.
  • 1996 Day classes were held.
  • 1998 Doug and Lois Emr changed the name from the Bila Tserkva Bible Institute to Ukraine Bible Institute. Classes were held every weekday, a library was added, and the school became better equipped to train pastors.
  • 1998 Doug Emr asked me (Ron Minton) to come to Ukraine and help him at the college.
  • 1999 In January I went to Ukraine for about three weeks and taught Bibliology. I would become the primary theology professor, teaching in all areas of Systematic Theology.
  • 2000 I went to Ukraine, taught at the college, and brought some much needed library supplies.
  • 2001 We upgraded the school considerably and Doug, at my recommendation, changed the name to International Baptist Bible College. It could give degrees, and was becoming comparable to Bible colleges in America. Special professors are brought in every two months or so. All full-time students were to pastor, go into missions, or do another ministry when they graduated.
  • 2002 Nancy and I went to Ukraine in the Spring for teaching and evangelism. In the summer, Doug Emr suddenly went to be with the Lord, and Bob VanSant, already a missionary in southern Ukraine, served as interim director of the Bible College.
  • 2002-2005 Igor Chirkin administered the college full time, assisting Bob VanSant.
  • 2003 I went to Ukraine as the commencement speaker at the first IBBC graduation in May. I went again for the second graduation in December.
  • 2004 I made my seventh trip to Ukraine, and confirmed God's call for us to go as career missionaries.
  • 2005 Nancy and I became full-time missionaries to Ukraine.
  • 2005/2006 Nancy and I were in Ukraine for part of this year. I taught in December 2005 and January 2006. Missionary Bruce Tuttle, a long-time partner and servant of the Lord, went full time in Bila Tserkva to work with churches and direct the original college. Bruce would stay full-time and the college name was changed to Pastor’s Training Institute of Ukraine.
  • 2006 Nancy and I moved permanently to Ukraine and started International Baptist Bible College, a completely new and high quality Bible College, in Kharkiv, Ukraine. There has long been a serious need to train pastors and new church planters in Ukraine and other former Soviet Bloc nations. The first classes were held in two major Ukraine cities.
